Thua Thien Hue province officially started construction of Chan May port breakwater project phase 2 with a total investment capital of 757 billion VND.
On October 8, the People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Chan May Port breakwater project – phase 2.
This is a key project to protect wharfs, increase cargo handling time, increase competitiveness, and gradually improve port infrastructure at Chan May Port in particular, Thua Thien Hue seaports in general. Also it contributes to realizing the goal of developing Vietnam’s seaport system in the period of 2021 – 2030, with a vision to 2050.
Chan May Port Breakwater Project – Phase 2 is implemented to complete the scale of Chan May Port breakwater approved by Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee with an extended scale of 300m longer, thereby extending the planned breakwater’s overall length to 750m.
The total investment of the project is 757 billion VND (about 31.5 mil USD), of which the construction and installation value is 680 billion dong from both the governmental budget and the local budget.
The province’s Management Board of the Provincial Economic and Industrial Zones was assigned as the investor of the project. The joint venture of Transport Infrastructure Engineering and Consulting JSC and Institute of Marine Construction is selected to be the construction survey and design contractor.
The consortium of Dat Phuong Group JSC, Lung Lo Construction Corporation, Manh Linh Construction Company Limited, Long Phung Construction Service One Member Company Limited are construction contractors. The project is expected to be completed in 1,250 days after the commencement date.
The Chan May Port breakwater project – phase 2 has concretized and realized the province’s goals and policies and determined to implement the Politburo’s policy on construction and development of Thua Thien Hue province by the year 2030, with a vision to 2045. Besides, Thua Thien Hue province is focusing, mobilizing all resources, and gradually investing in completing socio-economic infrastructure, which is expected to turn Thua Thien Hue province into a city “under the jurisdiction of the Central Government”.
