Quang Tri has an important geo-economic position: the intersection of the North-South and East-West economic axles, which has favorable traffic conditions in terms of road, railway and waterway, including the fast-flowing traffic routes of the country. Especially, the East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC) is the shortest trans-Asia route connecting Myanmar, Thailand and Laos through Lao Bao international border gate to central Vietnam.
