On July 8, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hien, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Transport, had a report on the phase 1 construction of the Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot expressway project.
Specifically, on June 16, the National Assembly approved the investment policy of the Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot expressway construction project – phase 1 with 3 component mini-projects.
Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot expressway project has a total length of 117.5 km, of which the section through Khanh Hoa province is about 33.2 km and through Dak Lak province is about 84.3 km. The expressway has a design speed of 100 km/h, with a total investment of nearly VND 22,000 billion.
The starting point of the expressway is the intersection of national highway 26B and national highway 1, Nam Van Phong port area, Ninh Hoa town (Khanh Hoa province); The end point will intersect Ho Chi Minh road to avoid the east of Buon Ma Thuot city (Dak Lak province).
The project is expected to build 49 bridges on the main route and seven overpasses. Along with that, the project will build three tunnels including Phuong Hoang tunnel, Ea Trang tunnel and Chu Te tunnel.
Khanh Hoa Department of Transport said that the preliminary project’s land use scope of the project passes through Khanh Hoa province with a total area of about 345 hectares. The expressway project will affect about 364 households, of which 280 will be resettled.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hien, Deputy Director of Department of Transport said that the project will be appraised and approved in May 2023. It is expected to complete the land clearance in the first quarter of 2024. The project is expected to start construction before November 30, 2023 and be completed in December 2026.
