Neighbours and friends, Laos and Vietnam are working to strengthen their traditional ties and cooperation, especially in the cultural sector. Lao Minister of Information and Culture, Mr. Mounkeo Oraboun, welcomed Vietnam’s Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr Hoang Tuan Anh, and his delegation on Friday following their attendance at the 25 SEA Games in Vientiane last week. The Lao government had endeavoured to strengthen links between the economic and social sectors of the two countries, to ensure economic development would benefit society as a whole. During the meeting, both sides praised the longstanding, positive relations between the two nations as seen in evidence at the 25th SEA Games. The bilateral meeting also honoured the achievement in mutual assistance and cooperation in various fields which had been beneficial to both nations. The two countries regularly organised exchange visits of experts to work together, and considered their cooperation as the key to national protection and development, essential to advancing their special friendship.
