The National Assembly of Vietnam has agreed to fund the construction of an administrative building for its counterpart Lao legislative body. Deputy Head of the Lao NA’s Administrative Office, Mr. Khampheng Vilaphanh, and his Vietnamese counterpart, Mr. Nguyen Quang Thanh, signed an agreement worth 170 billion dong (77 billion kip) for the project in Vientiane yesterday. The two-year construction of the building is set to start this month on a 9.534 square metre site and is expected to be completed by October 2011. The five-storey building will be constructed to the right of the existing assembly building. Once complete, it will offer facilities including offices for several committees, an information centre, a library and a reception room.
