Malaysia-based AP Bizlink to develop hydro electric project in Laos

Asia Pacific Business Link Snd Bhd Co Ltd (AP Bizlink) from Malaysia will develop the 130MW Nam Pha Hydro Electric project covering the areas of Long district in Luang Namtha province and Meung district in Bokeo province. An agreement was signed by Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Mr Thongmy Phomvixay and managing Director of AP Bizlink Mr Datuk Low Siak Wei at a ceremony held last week in Vientiane. The Nam Pha Hydro Power project will be located in the lower reaches of the Nam Pha, just below the confluence with the Nam Tha. The site is accessible by permanent road from Xieng Kok. The Nam Pha Hydro Power project will be located in Luang Namtha and Bokeo provinces so will contribute to meeting the electricity demands of the northern region. The project construction is expected to take about four years. Once all approvals are in place, the detailed studies completed and financial closure achieved, then the project date shall be calculated in regards to optimal work flow and under consideration of the impact of the rainy season. AP Bizlink is a multinational investment conglomerate which focuses on dynamic industries and strategic markets spanning from Asia Pacific to the Middle East.
